Tomorrow

Dreams, at last, are realized;
Joy and contentment magnified;
Things never thought of are.
Lying 'neath a watchful star
We can ponder things long gone,
And prizes sought and won.

No one to intrude
On our flawless solitude;
Children laugh and play and run.
In the east rises the somber sun.
Another day rolls slowly by;
We watch the hours pass, you and I.

Things are better now,
I told you they would be.
The sun sets and all is well.
