In years long since past, the hearth was the centre of the home or of any establishment which served food and beverage. That is a tradition which has long since been forgotten, what with sports bars, fast food restaurants, and central heating. The hearth in a lot of homes sees next to no use...Indeed, some of them are purely decorative and cannot even hold a fire. This is truly a thing which should not have come to pass.

Besides a place to get warm after a long ride in the drizzling rain, a spot to sit and ease the aches of sore muscles and a hot dish of food to fill the empty stomach or drink to slack a thirst, the fireside was a place to gather for the telling of stories while the elements batter the outside world, or spend time with loved ones that duty calls us away from. A place to regroup and relax, to forget about the cares of life and remember, instead, the pleasent things.

To that end, I provide here a Java chat room that can be used for that purpose: the telling of stories and relaxing from the Real World. Basicly a FFRPG (Freeform Fantasy Role-Playing Game), loosely based on Advanced Dungeouns & Dragons�, I ask only that if you use this room, you follow the rules outlined below:

• Actions are denoted with asteriks (*action*)
• Out of Character (OOC) comments are denoted with double parantheses ((comment))
• Private messages (aka, whispers) may be sent by highlighting a person's handle and checking the box labeled 'Private'. The Ignore funtion works in the same fashion
• Avoid fighting with other characters at all costs. If a fight cannot be avoided, use private messages to settle your disputes
• Most importantly, Have Fun

No password is required to enter, and if the Handle you wish is already in use, you will not be allowed to enter, instead given the option of entering a new Handle.
